What is a waveguide?

A sound wave is a collection of air molecules moving in a wave-like motion, spreading in three dimensions: back-and-forth, sideways, down- and upwards. High-frequency waves emitted by the tweeter of your speaker, are closely spaced and therefore the shortest in wavelength. When these short waves reach the edge of a conventional speaker, they suddenly encounter extra space, which causes them to bend outward. This creates unwanted secondary waves and a blurred, imprecise sound image.

Our waveguide prevents this effect by guiding the sound waves forward in a careful and controlled way. This keeps your sound clear and focused. Thanks to the waveguide, the tweeter can also reproduce lower frequencies than usual, allowing the midrange and bass to perform more cleanly.
