No. RoomMatching combines acoustic design, digital signal processing (DSP) and room calibration to make your Dutch & Dutch audio system work with your room.

Three complementary acoustic technologies shape how sound enters the room:
Boundary Coupled Bass uses the wall behind the loudspeaker as part of the bass system. The bass design and settings for wall distance work together to improve low-frequency efficiency and integration with the midrange. This makes placement close to the wall a practical part of the design.
Natural Cardioid directs more midrange sound forwards and less towards the sides and rear. It reduces the energy available to create strong reflections, so nearby walls have less influence on the sound of voices and instruments.
Minimum Diffraction Waveguide controls how the treble spreads and reduces sound scattering from the loudspeaker’s front surface. Its dispersion is matched to the cardioid midrange, so the tonal balance changes smoothly as sound leaves the loudspeaker at different angles.
DSP is integral to this design, handling crossover filtering, time alignment and other core system functions. Room calibration then adapts the system to your particular listening space.
Dutch & Dutch’s proprietary RoomMatching Align guides this calibration through the app. It is currently available for the 6c, with support for the 8c planned.
