Known Issues
Can I connect the 8c to a Power Over Ethernet network?
Most first generation PoE switches and routers simply enable power on the ethernet lines, these would damage the 8c network port immidiatly. Newer PoE devices are supposed to communicate their power capabilities but even still some manufacturers just enable power on the connection anyway.
Recommendation:
Do not connect the 8c’s to a Power over Ethernet network if it can be avoided.
High pitch noise on serial numbers below 400.
We have found a problem with the ADC hardware configuration that can lead to a constant high pitch noise at a very low volume. This noise can become worse over time if you experience this and wish it would be fixed, please reach out to support through the Support Request Form.
Something went wrong during updating
Sometimes when updating a speaker to the latest firmware fails and the speaker end up back in the same firmware version it had before. Before attempting to resolve this please make sure to make a backup of the current settings in the Release Management System (RMS).
Update speakers individual.
Turn the right speaker off, attempt to update the left speaker. If successful turn the left speaker off and attempt to update the right speaker as well.
If both units are updated turn them both on and find them in the Ascend App.
Factory reset.
Factory reset both speakers, before attempting to set the room up update the speakers to the latest firmware version.
If both units are updated turn them both on and find them in the Ascend App.
If none of the solutions above leads to a working setup please reach out to support through the Support Request Form.
My speaker was in storage for several months, now they don’t power up anymore.
Make sure the fuse is still good, open the fuse cap next to the power inlet and switch. The fuse should look clean and have a connected wire in the middle, if it looks burned or snapped try replace it before anything else.
If your speaker doesn’t appear to come back up anymore please reach out to support through the Support Request Form.
Backpanel LED patterns
The backpanel LED patterns have evolved over time, in the latest firmware the patterns below indicate which input selection is currently selected.

I can not find my speakers in the Ascend app anymore.
When your speakers have disappeared from the network the Ascend app won’t be able to show them anymore, to find out if there is a problem with the network or a problem with the speaker try to load the Release Management System (RMS) page on the affected devices. If this page loads the problem is most likely a problem in the network configuration of a problem in the app.
Release Management System can not be found.
In case neither the Ascend app nor the Release Management System can be reached, verify if there is communication on the switch by checking the blinking leds. If there is no blinking lights try another ethernet cable.
If there are blinking lights the issue could be the firmware itself, please reach out to support through the Support Request Form.
